BERKELEY -- Ahki Muhammad ran for three first half touchdowns and scored another on defense as the visiting James Logan High football team controlled the clock and field position in beating Berkeley 26-7.

"We had a short field most of the night, and for the most part we ran the ball well," Logan coach George Zuber said. "We leaned on our defense a lot and I was confident they'd play well and it felt like we had the game in control."

Two of Muhammad's scores came in situations that broke the back of the Berkeley defense. The first came from 3 yards out after a 15-play, 67-yard drive that stayed alive thanks to two offsides penalties on fourth down.

Fourth down was good to Muhammad again on his third score as he bolted for a 45-yard touchdown on fourth and two.

The Yellowjackets (2-3) evened the score at 7-7 early in the second quarter after a 42-yard run by Michael Lazarus set up a 4-yard pass from Gerardo Barron to Travis Dennis.

Logan (4-1) scored three unanswered touchdowns after Berkeley's only score.
