Kings 2, Hurricanes 1: Jeff Carter scored the shootout winner for Los Angeles Kings, which got a goal from Dwight King and 27 saves from Jonathan Quick in Raleigh, N.C.

Flames 3, Devils 2: Rookie Sean Monahan, who turns 19 Saturday, scored with 2:43 remaining to lift Calgary past winless New Jersey. Monahan was left alone to goaltender Martin Brodeur's right to chip home a feed from Sven Baertschi for his fourth goals this season.

Blackhawks 3, Islanders 2: Michal Handzus scored the go-ahead goal 6:45 into the second period for host Chicago. Chicago's Jonathan Toews and rookie Joakim Nordstrom connected in the first period. Nordstrom's goal was his first in the NHL.

Coyotes 2, Flyers 1: Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the winner with 12.9 seconds left in the second period and Thomas Greiss made 36 saves in his first start of the season for visiting Phoenix. The Coyotes have won two straight games on the road after dropping two straight by a combined 10-2 score.

Panthers 6, Penguins 3: Brad Boyes scored two goals, Tomas Fleischmann had a goal and three assists, and host Florida snapped a three-game losing streak.

Stars 4, Jets 1: Tyler Seguin had two goals and two assists to lead Dallas.
