Bryce Petty threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, Shock Linwood ran for 182 yards, and fifth-ranked Baylor stayed unbeaten with a 41-12 win over No. 12 Oklahoma on Thursday in Waco, Texas.

Baylor (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) scored twice in the final minute before halftime and stretched its school-record winning streak to 12 games since a loss at Oklahoma last November.

Petty completed 13 of 26 passes for a season-low 204 yards against the Sooners (7-2, 4-2). He ran 16 times for 45 yards.

Baseball

Rick Renteria, San Diego's bench coach, signed a three-year contract as the Chicago Cubs' new manager. He is another unproven hired by team president Theo Epstein after the struggling Cubs were rebuffed by New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi. Dale Sveum was fired after two seasons, including a 66-96 record this past season.

  • Detroit hitting coach Lloyd McClendon was officially announced as Seattle's manager. He also had interviewed in 2010 for the Mariners job that went to Eric Wedge.

  • Alex Rodriguez's legal team has gathered additional evidence since he filed a lawsuit accusing Major League Baseball and commissioner Bud Selig of trying to destroy the third baseman's career, his lawyer said. At a New York court hearing, Jordan Siev accused MLB and Selig of going on a "witch hunt." MLB attorney Joseph Baumgarten called the suit "inappropriate." The litigation comes after Rodriguez was given a 211-game suspension by MLB on Aug. 5 for alleged violations of baseball's drug agreement. A grievance hearing on that suspension is ongoing. Arbitrator Fredric Horowitz has presided over eight days of hearings, which will resume Nov. 18.

  • Left-hander Martin Perez agreed to a $12.5 million, four-year contract with Texas. The 22-year-old's deal includes three club options through 2020. He was 10-6 in his rookie season.

    Playing only 10 holes because of rain and flooding, Tiger Woods was 1 under at the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalaya. The start was delayed three hours. Paul Casey was at 7 under through 14 holes. Ricardo Gonzalez and Thorbjorn Olesen were the clubhouse leaders at 6-under 66s.

  • George McNeill was 8 under after 16 holes of the McGladrey Classic on St. Thomas Island, Ga. The round couldn't be completed due to a fog delay. Brian Gay and Briny Baird had 7-under 63s among the early starters.

  • Shiho Oyama opened with a 4-under 68 to take a one-shot lead in the LPGA Mizuno Classic in Shima, Japan. Defending champion Stacy Lewis shot a 71.

    MLS

    Sebastian Velasquez scored in the first half, Chris Schuler added the winning goal in the first overtime, and Real Salt Lake advanced to the Western Conference finals with a 2-0 home win over two-time defending champion Los Angeles. RSL won the series 2-1 on aggregate.

    Tennis

    Novak Djokovic joined Rafael Nadal in the ATP World Tour Finals semifinals, edging Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in London. Djokovic is 2-0 in Group B.

    Roger Federer beat Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-3 to improve to 1-1.
