THE STAT LINE: Stehr blocked well on offense and made numerous tackles in the No. 3-seeded Matadors' 41-28 upset win over No. 1 Casa Grande-Petaluma in the North Coast Section Division II championship game. The Matadors offensive line paved the way for quarterback Drew Anderson, who threw four of his five touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

THE STAT LINE: Brown had 32 points, four rebounds and two steals to lead her team to a 56-35 nonleague victory over Independence-San Jose. In the Cougars'opener, she had 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 62-26 win over Arroyo.

THE STAT LINE: Romeo, who has signed with Nebraska, was the MVP of the Dorothy Speck Tournament in Davis, notching two triple-doubles and leading the Cougars to the championship. She had 23 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists in a semifinal win over Brookside Christian and 19 points, 10 steals and 10 assists over Davis in the championship.
KEITH BENJAMIN, El Cerrito, football, Sr. -- Benjamin caught touchdown passes of 10, 35 and 19 yards in the Gauchos' 54-38 victory over Marin Catholic-Kentfield in the NCS Division III championship game. He finished with four catches for 69 yards.
LUIS RAMIREZ, Granada, basketball, Sr. -- Ramirez was named MVP of the Rob Vares Memorial Tournament after scoring 14 points in a 62-59 championship game victory over Washington. He totaled 63 points in three other games last week.
SABRINA IONESCU, Miramonte, basketball, So. -- Ionescu was the MVP of the Big House Invitational in Casa Grande, as the Matadors captured the tournament title. Ionescu scored 28 points in the Matadors' 83-50 first-round win over Redwood.
DARRIEN WASHINGTON, Skyline, basketball, Sr. -- The Nebraska-bound Washington had a combined 56 points, 27 rebounds and 13 blocks in three nonleague games, including a 24-point, 10-rebound, five-block performance in a 55-31 win over Analy.
