BERKELEY -- Cal senior point guard Justin Cobbs, whose game-winning shot with 0.9 seconds left handed Arizona its first defeat of the season, has been named Pac-12 player of the week.
Cobbs averaged 20 points, five assists and two steals in two games, including a 19-point performance in the 60-58 win over Arizona in which the Bears scored their first-ever home court victory over a No.1 -ranked team.
Cobbs scored Cal's final 12 points against the Wildcats.
With 1,269 career points, Cobbs has moved to No. 19 on Cal's all-time scoring chart.
The player of the week award is the the second in four weeks for Cobbs and the fifth in his career, matching Ed Gray for the most by a Cal player. Only 14 players in conference history have been honored five times or more.
