Three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings tied the women's record for beach volleyball tournament victories in the United States with 69, teaming with April Ross to win the AVP Milwaukee Open on Sunday.

Walsh Jennings, a former Stanford star, and Ross beat Brooke Sweat and Laurent Fendrick 15-21, 21-16, 15-13 in the final.

Walsh Jennings tied retired former partner Misty May-Treanor for the mark. She also extended her overall record with her 118th career title. Walsh Jennings and Ross have three AVP Tour victories and eight worldwide titles since teaming in September.

  • Brian Ragira hit a solo homer in the second inning and had an RBI single in a four-run sixth, leading the San Jose Giants to an 8-4 Cal League win over Stockton at Municipal Stadium. Giants starter Joe Kurrasch (7-2) allowed four runs and seven hits in 71/3 innings.

  • Stanford product Josh Huestis had six points and four turnovers in Oklahoma City's 84-73 loss to Philadelphia at the Orlando NBA Pro Summer League. Huestis was selected in the first round (No. 29 overall) by the Thunder last month.
