Terrence Howard's ex-wife said he beat her during an argument last week in Costa Rica, according to TMZ.

Michelle Ghent -- who divorced Howard in May but reunited with him recently -- went to Costa Rica with Howard and several of his relatives last week. Sources told the website an argument between the two turned nasty and Howard beat her up.

Howard has reportedly said Ghent maced him, his adult daughter and another family member. Police were reportedly called and reports were taken. No charges have been filed.

However, sources reportedly told TMZ Howard made up the mace story to cover his abuse. Then again, other sources connected to Howard told the website Ghent is lying about the actor physically abusing her.

Good luck sorting this one out.

TMZ said Ghent is going to court to try getting a restraining order against Howard.

Ghent has previously said Howard has punched her in the face and neck, and said the abuse started seven days after they got married.
