Amy Adams will play Janis Joplin in Lee Daniels' next movie.
"This is my next project for sure," Daniels told the Huffington Post. "I had no idea Janis Joplin was so smart -- intellectual, even. Look, some of the smartest people in the world have been drug addicts."
He may make good movies, but maybe we should keep this guy away from elementary school motivational speeches.
Adams has started preparing for the role, telling the New York Times in June, "I've been working on my rasp. Just by tearing up my voice. I'm going to try to do as much singing as I can. But I'm also realistic, and I might need some assistance."
If you just flashed to Jenna from "30 Rock" preparing for the same role, you aren't alone.
Daniels, whose latest film "The Butler" opened to strong reviews and box office returns, said he also wants to do a horror film at some point, as well as and adapt "Miss Saigon" for the big screen.
