Sony has announced it will make spinoff films from "The Amazing Spider-Man" universe, according to BigShinyRobot.com.

No, I don't really think an actual big shiny robot runs that site. But you never know.

Two films reportedly in the works will feature Venom and the Sinister Six.

Writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard, producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, and director Marc Webb are supposedly collaborating on the projects. The plan is reportedly to begin work on the films after "The Amazing Spider-Man 3," which is slated to go into production in about a year, according to the robot site.
