Trace Adkins fought a Trace Adkins impersonator.

We'll leave it to the amateur psychologists out there to figure out this one.

The country singer Trace Adkins tangled with a guy who was impersonating him on a cruise ship. The altercation occurred reportedly after Adkins fell off the wagon after a dozen years of sobriety.

According to TMZ, Adkins was headlining a country cruise headed to Jamaica. He was in the bar when something happened between him and the impersonator, who was doing Karaoke. The pair ended up getting into a brawl.

The website said once the boat docked in Jamaica, Adkins headed off to rehab.

Adkins and the unnamed tribute singer met once before in 2007 and didn't beat the stuffing out of each other then.

The singer's rep told E! News that Adkins "has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism." The statement added, "As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected."

Right. Note to self: No camping in Trace Adkins front yard.

The former "Celebrity Apprentice" has reportedly dealt with alcohol issues for more than two decades and sought inpatient treatment in December 2001.

Country Cruising was a seven-day trip scheduled to make stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Cozumel, Mexico; and Grand Cayman. Adkins joined a star-studded roster that was supposed to perform in the ship's main theater throughout the journey.

He told the Hollywood Reporter in 2011 his manager saved his life. "If you've ever been through one of those things, it's the most humiliating experience you'll ever have," he said. "To hear people you respect and love sit there and tell you the kind of pain you've been causing them ... and yeah, I'm an alcoholic."
