PASADENA

When USA's "Suits" returns from its Season 3 hiatus in March, fans can expect plenty of fireworks.

On Saturday, USA unveiled a trailer at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that featured several explosive confrontations and even a bit of fisticuffs.

At one point, a snarling Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) tells Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), "I'm onto you, and I'm going to expose you for the lying piece of filth that you are!"

Of course, Mike's secret -- Harvey Spector (Gabriel Macht) brought him into the firm despite the fact he never earned a law degree -- has been at the heart of "Suits" since it debuted in the summer of 2011. During a panel session for the series, creator Aaron Korsh teased that the next six episodes would focus heavily on the potential unraveling of that secret.

"I feel like the theme of the last six is Harvey and Mike made this decision to bring a fraud into this firm. And they're going to deal with the consequences of that decision throughout the last six," he said. "And it's going to take a couple of episodes to get through the Louis portion of it, but it's going to have ramifications on every single character in the firm."

But Hoffman pointed out that the story line plays out in an "unconventional way" and leads to a "much deeper, more dangerous type of situation."

"There's a real serious element of deceit," he said.

Added Gina Torres, "The stakes continue to get higher."

Along the way, Macht will find himself in a conflict with a character played by his father, Stephen. The elder Macht is a Harvard ethics professor who threatens to out Mike. In turn, Harvey attempts to blackmail the man.

"We had a great time," Macht said. "He was excellent. He knocked it out of the park. ... (But) it's kind of hard to say 'You smug son of a bitch' to your father."

Also, in the coming episodes, Harvey will enter into a relationship with Scottie, someone's life will be "in danger," and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps will drop by for a guest stint.

"Suits" resumes it run at 9 p.m., March 6.
