Sasquatch! Music Festival has announced the lineup for Memorial Day weekend -- and it's a good one.

Outkast, the National, Queens of the Stone Age, Kid Cudi and M.I.A. are among the top acts set to appear May 23-25 at the Gorge Amphitheatre. With lineups such as that, it's easy to understand why so many Bay Area music fans travel up to Washington state for this festival.

There also will be a second Sasquatch!, set for Fourth of July weekend at the same venue. Soundgarden, Kraftwerk, New Order and Frank Ocean are among the top reasons to come up to the Gorge on July 4-6.

Festival passes go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at www.sasquatchfestival.com. The 2013 festival sold out in a record 90 minutes.

Giant Talent: It didn't take Young the Giant long to establish itself among indie-pop's top acts.

The Southern California quintet accomplished that trick with its 2010 self-titled debut, which offered up the smash singles "My Body" and "Cough Syrup" and drew rave reviews from many critics.

Young the Giant is currently touring in support of "Mind Over Matter," the sophomore swing that has already produced the alt-rock radio hit "It's About Time."
