I have seen the future winner of the 2015 Academy Award for best picture and its name is "RoboCop" (the remake).
OK, so, perhaps I'm going a little overboard with that prediction. Yet, I do feel confident in saying that "RoboCop" will be the finest action-adventure remake released to theaters on Feb. 12. Unless, of course, I am forgetting about some other action-adventure remake slated to hit the big screen that same day. Then, "RoboCop" might well turn out to be the second finest action-adventure remake released on Feb. 12.
In honor of the occasion, I have come up with the ultimate "RoboCop" playlist. Here are the top 10 robot songs (listed alphabetically):
"Blunts and Robots," Crystal Method: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, thankfully.
"I Robot," The Alan Parsons Project: If I had a nickel for every songwriter who turned to Isaac Asimov for inspiration ... .
"Ladytron," Roxy Music: Yes, I will use any excuse to plug my favorite band.
"Mr. Roboto," Styx: Astoundingly, this isn't even the worst song on the album "Kilroy Was Here."
"Paranoid Android," Radiohead: I'm not quite sure what the lyrics mean. But I never let that stop me when it comes to Radiohead.
"Robots," Flight of the Conchords: Best. Binary. Solo. Ever.
"The Robots," Kraftwerk: You knew Kraftwerk would make the list, right?
"Robot Parade," They Might Be Giants; I love a parade.
"We Don't Allow No Robots in Sunday School," The Fugs: The title alone secures this song a spot on my list.
"Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1," The Flaming Lips: This isn't the one about jelly. It's the other one.
