George Clooney has a new, smart girlfriend.

Right ... that George Clooney.

No one is saying Stacy Keibler and Elisabetta Canalis weren't bright. But they weren't a high-profile British lawyer who has served as a U.N. advisor.

According to MSN, four months after the 52-year-old Oscar winner denied reports he was involved with 36-year-old Amal Alamuddin (seems a bit old for him, doesn't it?), the two were spotted looking cozy at a private Feb. 18 White House screening of "The Monuments Men" for President Barack Obama and various government officials.

"They were holding hands," Harry Ettlinger, who's one of the inspirations for the film, told People magazine, adding that Amal "is a beautiful lady. I said to myself, 'George, you did a lot of good things and you sure know how to pick them!'"

That has never seemed much of a problem for him.

MSN reported Alamuddin specializes in international, criminal and human rights law and represents WikiLeaks mastermind Julian Assange in his extradition proceedings with Sweden. The London Daily Mail reported she wasn't on the official guest list, though White House sources confirmed she was at the screening.

Apparently, what Clooney wants, Clooney gets.

Also present were Clooney's co-stars Matt Damon and Bill Murray, along with his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney. Clooney and Alamuddin were later seen at a post-screening gathering of the cast at a Washington, D.C., bar.

"They looked very much together," said a witness. "George had his arm around her, and she appeared to be a girlfriend."

Another witness told People magazine, "They just seemed very, very together. They were stuck like glue."

The pair were spotted in October having a "non-romantic" dinner in London. Clooney's people said they were working together on a surveillance satellite program over Syria.

MSN said Alamuddin, who graduated from Oxford, speaks three languages, served as a U.N. advisor on Syria and nabbed the top spot on a list of London's "hottest barristers."
