Joe Henry is a stunningly accomplished producer, having helped craft Grammy-winning/nominated albums by such acclaimed artists as the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Allen Toussaint and Susan Tedeschi.

Henry is also a prolific singer-songwriter-guitarist and has released several studio albums.

Henry performs Friday at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Dan Wilson, of Semisonic fame, is also on the bill.

Rodney Crowell hit his commercial peak in the late '80s, when his outstanding album "Diamonds and Dirt" produced no less than five No. 1 country songs.

Yet, he's done some of his best work in more recent decades.

His recently released album, "Tarpaper Sky," is another winner, which has drawn rave reviews from critics.

The talented singer-songwriter-guitarist performs Saturday at Slim's in San Francisco. Will Kimbrough is also on the bill.
