The Stanford men's basketball team, is a No. 4 seed in the NIT and hosts No. 5 Stephen F. Austin (27-4) at 8 p.m. Tuesday in an opening-round game that will be shown on ESPN2.

Stanford (18-14), which won the NIT a year ago, is seeking to become the third program to win back-to-back championships. St. John's (1943-44) and South Carolina (2005-06) have each claimed consecutive titles.

Tickets for Tuesday's game go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday. Three Pac-12 teams landed in the NIT, with Arizona Stata a No. 3 seed and Washington a sixth-seed. The championship game is April 4 at Madison Square Garden.
