The SaberCats announced their AFL game against the Tampa Bay Storm has been moved from May 11 to May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in HP Pavilion.
The change is due to a potential scheduling conflict involving Game 6 of the first-round NHL playoff series between the Sharks and Vancouver Canucks.
"We are glad to accommodate this change," SaberCats managing partner Dave Fry said Thursday.
The SaberCats (3-2) play host to Cleveland (1-4) on Saturday night.
The Earthquakes waived forward Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson and midfielder Jacob Hustedt and activated midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy from the disabled list. Ballouchy, a former Santa Clara All-American, has been out since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against FC Dallas on Sept. 29, 2012. Gonzalez, 20, trained with the Quakes during the 2013 preseason, and the San Jose native signed with the club April 4. He made one appearance in Reserve League play.
The match marks the fourth straight year the Quakes have hosted an English Premier League team for a summer friendly. "This match is another great opportunity for Bay Area soccer fans to watch a top-notch opponent play against their local club," Quakes president Dave Kaval said. Ticket information is at www.sjearthquakes.com or 800-225-2277.
