The Saint Mary's College men's basketball team has added to its 2013 recruiting class, as Lake Oswego (Ore.) wing Calvin Hermanson said Wednesday that he has orally committed to the Gaels.

"They've been recruiting me for about a year now," Hermanson said. "I love the coaches. I have a great relationship with them."

Hermanson is rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com, and averaged 23 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as the Lakers made it to the Oregon Class 6A championship game.

Marquette, Oregon State, Utah, Drake and UC Santa Barbara had all offered Hermanson, and he said Stanford and Washington State were also showing interest.

"It's a great program," Hermanson said of Saint Mary's. "I went down to visit twice and had a blast."

He was named the Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year for the state of Oregon as a junior. He also made a Bay Area appearance this past season, scoring 15 points in a 50-38 loss to Newark Memorial at the Martin Luther King Jr. Classic at Cal.

Hermanson joins Eldorado-Albuquerque (N.M.) shooting guard Cullen Neal as commits to coach Randy Bennett and the Gaels for 2013.

"I've heard about him," Hermanson said of Neal. "I'm excited to play with him."
