Residents can spend an afternoon shopping and sampling wine during the Fall Wine Stroll, from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in downtown Martinez.

Visitors can sample wine at 18 participating businesses, meet shop owners and mill around downtown stores and restaurants, and get a start on holiday shopping. They must be 21 or older to participate in the wine tasting.

Tickets are $15 each before the event, $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance with cash or check at: Main Street Martinez office, 603 Marina Vista; Alley Cats, 720 Main St.; Atticchild FUNiture, 653 Main St.; Leah's Closet, 831 Main St.; Pleasant Hill Wine Merchants, 2685 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite D.

Participants will check in at: Martinez Gallery, 630 Court St. or Main Street Quilts, 533 Main St. to pick up their commemorative glass and map of the participating businesses.
