Dianne Dunlap of Martinez has been appointed to the Contra Costa Commission for Women as the representative of District 2 Supervisor Gayle B. Uilkema.
"I thank Supervisor Uilkema and the Board of Supervisors for the opportunity participate in the advancement of solutions that benefit both women and our community," she said in a news release.
Dunlap is a governor's appointee to the Contra Costa County Fair Board and serves as its president, and also has served on the boards of the Contra Costa and Sacramento Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). She was co-chairwoman of the Martinez stage of the 2006 Tour of California cycling events.
Dunlap is employed by the coalition of Kaiser Permanente unions as the deputy to the executive director. She has worked for Governor Schwarzenegger, the California Medical Association and the state Legislature. She is a graduate of the UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in political science.
