Just days old, goslings leave their rooftop nest at the Contra Costa Times with a leap of faith to the ground below on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in Walnut Creek, Calif. (Cindi Christie/Staff)

Mother Goose and her goslings have left the nest. One by one, the little ones followed their mother and jumped off the roof of the Contra Costa Times building where they hatched on Monday.

The new mom is a Canada goose who started nesting on our rooftop four years ago and has returned every spring since then to raise a new family of goslings.
