The offense for the Concord High football team came alive in the third quarter after a lackluster first half and the Minutemen cruised to a 44-7 victory over visiting American-Fremont.
Concord (2-2) piled up 513 yards of total offense and scored 24 points in the third quarter alone.
The highlight was a 99-yard drive led by sophomore quarterback Wyatt Morrow and junior running back Olito Thompson. Both players put up astounding offensive numbers on the night. Morrow threw three touchdowns and had 227 passing yards, while Thompson scored twice on the ground and rushed for 236 yards.
American (1-3) could not establish any aerial offense. Eagles Quarterback Ryan Barker completed just 5 of 21 passes for 46 yards and was intercepted three times.
American's Deshane Hines and Eric Adair ran the ball effectively most of the evening. Hines had 121 rushing yards and Adair ran for 57 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown which would be the Eagles' lone score. Concord captain Terrance Young caught 7 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.
