SAN FRANCISCO -- BART service was experiencing 15-minute delays for all trains heading to and from San Francisco on Thursday morning after person in a wheelchair fell onto the track at Powell Street station, transit officials said.
Trains coming into San Francisco from the East Bay and the Peninsula were being turned around before they reached Powell Street station as medical crews attended to the emergency in the trackway.
BART spokesman Linton Johnson told KTVU that the tracks are now clear and that regular service is expected to resume shortly. He said no one was seriously injured.
