OAKLAND -- Authorities have released the identity of the woman killed Wednesday morning in a solo vehicle accident near the Trestle Glen neighborhood.
Erika Sharone Latrice Watson, 40, of Oakland, died when she crashed a vehicle in the intersection of Park and MacArthur boulevards around 9:25 a.m., an Alameda County Coroner's Bureau official said.
The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, authorities said.
Watson was northbound on Park Boulevard when she tried to turn left on MacArthur Boulevard, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a "fixed object," Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specific details about the accident -- such as the vehicle's make and model or what it crashed into -- were not provided.
Police, who still are investigating the accident, said there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs played a role, Moore said.
