BOULDER CREEK -- A head-on collision near Highways 9 and 236 on Wednesday morning left a 72-year-old Boulder Creek man with major injuries, the CHP reported.
A 57-year-old woman was driving south on Highway 9 in a Subaru Legacy when she crossed the double-yellow lines into the oncoming lane, said California Highway Patrol officer Grant Boles.
The 72-year-old man was headed north on Highway 236 in a 1972 Datsun when they collided about 8:40 a.m., the CHP said.
The woman was not injured, but the man was taken by helicopter to a Santa Clara County hospital. Highway 9 was closed in alternating directions for about 40 minutes as emergency crews responded.
