ANTIOCH -- Drivers headed west out of the city Saturday morning should expect delays as work continues to widen Highway 4.

The contractor for the project is closing the road from midnight to 3 a.m. from Lone Tree Way to Somersville Road so it can clean out an existing drainage structure under the westbound lanes near Somersville, according to a Caltrans news release.

Motorists will be directed off the road at Lone Tree, up A Street and left on 18th St, and Sycamore Drive, before turning left on Auto Center Drive and back onto Highway 4.

Drivers should allow extra travel time.
