LOS ALTOS HILLS -- An accident involving a motorcycle and four vehicles caused a significant backup on northbound Interstate 280 near the Magdalena Avenue offramp around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said later in the evening that the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and the other involved vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.

The accident was first reported around 6:14 p.m., and was said to involve the motorcycle with its rider down on the roadway and several vehicles stopped, some with air bags deployed. After emergency crews arrived, three lanes were blocked and a Sigalert was sounded at 6:32 p.m., notifying motorists to expect delays in the area.

All lanes were reopened at 7:33 p.m., according to the CHP.
