Remember when the Red Hot Chili Peppers played during halftime of the Super Bowl? They somehow did it without being plugged in. Not even to wireless devices.

After being called out on social media, bassist Flea tweeted on Monday, "No trickery. No choice, but no trickery."

OK.

Fansided reported both Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer lacked cords on their guitars while performing their hit "Give It Away," and photos show the instruments weren't plugged into anything.

Last year's Super Bowl performer Beyonce sang live not long after getting caught lip syncing the national anthem on Inauguration Day.

Bruno Mars also appeared to be singing live during last weekend's performance.
