FREMONT - A lottery ticket sold at a Fremont convenience store Friday has a $52 million jackpot, state officials said. As of late Saturday, no one had come forward to claim the prize.

The Mega Millions ticket, which matched all six numbers - 2, 3, 4, 8, 43 and the Mega number of 26 - was purchased at the Kwik Stop at 3157 Walnut Ave., said California Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso. The estimated cash value of the ticket is $40.5 million, Traverso said.

Because the jackpot was hit, Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot will be $12 million, state officials said.

The California Lottery is asking winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a safe place and contact lottery officials or visit their local lottery district office promptly after winning.

Winners have a year from the date of the draw to claim the Mega Millions jackpot prize, Traverso said. They have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim all other prizes.
