LIVERMORE-- A Livermore man missing since June 25 was found dead Monday of an apparent suicide, in a rural lot near his home, police said.
The body of the 24-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in a remote, unincorporated area on Doolan Road, Alameda County Sheriff Sgt. J.D. Nelson said. The man's body was discovered exactly six weeks from the day he was reported missing by his family. He had last been seen June 24.
The body was positively identified Tuesday as that of the missing man, an Alameda County Coroner's spokesperson said. According to police, it is likely his body had been there since the day he disappeared.
It is the Bay Area News Group's policy to withhold the names of suicide victims.
