Tickets for "Book of Mormon," the most anticipated theater event of the year in the Bay Area, are about to go on sale.

Up to now, seats for the show's Nov. 27-Dec. 30 run at San Francisco's Curran Theatre have been available only as part of the SHN season ticket package. But on Sept. 12 at 10 a.m., single tickets will be available to American Express card holders. Then, on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m., whatever seats are left -- and don't count on there being many -- will be available to everyone else.

The first national touring company opened in Denver in mid-August and sold out almost immediately. It opens Sept. 5 at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles before coming to San Francisco.
