Donald Trump is known for many things, but judging hip-hop talent isn't one of them. Thus, a lot of people had a good laugh when Trump proclaimed Mac Miller as "the new Eminem" -- even before the young rapper had released his debut. (You don't think the fact that Miller recorded a song called "Donald Trump" might've factored into the endorsement? Nah!)

Trump seems slightly less preposterous now that we've heard "Blue Slide Park," one of the best records of 2011.

Miller is actually a far more party boy than Em -- at least on record -- yet he can sling a rhyme in true Slim Shady fashion. He plays 8 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Fox Theater, 1807 Telegraph Ave., Oakland.

Tickets are $35 at wwwapeconcerts.com.
