The cities of Pleasanton and Livermore will host free screenings of the award-winning environmental documentary, "Bag It.
In Livermore, it will be shown at 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at the Livermore 13 Cinemas, 2490 First St.
In Pleasanton, there will be one showing Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Firehouse Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Ave.
"Bag It" follows "everyman" Jeb Berrier as he navigates our plastic world. Berrier is not a radical environmentalist, but an average American who decides to take a closer look at our cultural love affair with plastics. More movie information can be found at www.bagitmovie.com.
Beginning Jan. 1, Alameda County grocery stores and certain other food retailers may no longer provide single-use plastic carryout bags. A free reusable canvas bag will be given to those who attend the film.
