A Livermore man who had been missing since Saturday, prompting a large scale search in southern Trinity County, was found around 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Trinity County Sheriff's Department said.
Craig Willes, 55, was reported to be fine but dehydrated, said Lynn Ward, information officer for the Sheriff's Department.
Willes was either hiking or hunting in the area. No further information was immediately available.
The call of the missing person was received at 7:40 a.m. Sunday. It was reported that Willes had gone hiking in the Hopkins Camp area on Saturday and was supposed to meet with friends on a trail but did not arrive. The caller said Willes' vehicle was at the trailhead with his pack, GPS and map still inside.
In addition to Trinity County Sheriff's Search and Rescue members and deputies, search teams from Marin County, a Forest Service Hotshot team, searchers from Humboldt County, the state Department of Fish and Game and dog teams were involved in the search. The CHP helicopter and fixed wing plane had also been used.
