Pathway Community moves to new home

Pathway Community Church will celebrate its 15th anniversary and its new home in Dublin at a special celebration at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The church, now at 6533 Sierra Lane, started 15 years ago in the living room of the pastor. It outgrew its location and moved to Creekside Middle School in Castro Valley. It later moved to San Ramon for five years before coming to Dublin.

Film 'Race to Nowhere' to be shown, discussed

A screening of "Race to Nowhere" will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, to be followed by an interactive panel discussion that will feature education and youth experts.

As a special highlight, those attending can text their questions to panelists during the program. Among the speakers will be Pleasanton schools Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi, Pleasanton school board President Joan Laursen, Psychologist Bob Field and Becky Hopkins of Pleasanton Youth and Teen Services.

The program, sponsored by the parents' Challenge Success Book Club of Amador Valley High School, will be held at Valley Community Church, 4455 Del Valle Parkway.

Play for a turkey at holiday bingo

Pleasanton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6298 will hold its annual Turkey Bingo on Saturday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Veterans Memorial Building at 301 Main St.

Bingo cards are $10 each and can be played for 20 games. There will be 15 turkeys awarded as prizes and two games will have a $50 cash prize. It is open to all.
