  • On Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal of Abraham Lincoln: "I would argue that the actor who really got into Lincoln's head was John Wilkes Booth."

  • On Ben Affleck's appearance: "The first time I saw him with all that dark facial hair, I thought, 'My God, the Kardashians have made the jump to film,'"

  • On the profanity-laced screenplay from "Django": "I'm told that the screenplay was loosely based on Mel Gibson's voice mails."
