Barbara Steinfeld has been hired as the new president of the Tri-Valley Tourism Bureau, formerly known as the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau.

She replaces Grant Raeside who left in September. She will take over the job April 8.

Steinfeld was most recently the vice president of tourism sales with Travel Portland, where she worked 16 years. She also worked as the international tourism manager for the Tampa Bay Convention and Tourism Bureau.

Steinfeld is currently the chair of the US Travel Association's Destination Council and is the past chair of the Cultural & Heritage Tourism Alliance, of which she is a co-founder.

The Tri-Valley Tourism Bureau handles tourism sales and marketing for the town of Danville and the cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon as well as for the Amador, Livermore and San Ramon valleys.
