Members of the California High School Concert Choir in San Ramon, performed Feb. 2 at Anaheim's Disneyland Resort after being given the opportunity to perform for theme park guests.

A team of students from Gale Ranch Middle School in San Ramon won first place in the California State Odyssey of The Mind competition held March 23 in Brentwood. The "Immortals" team, Pulkit Mahajan, Ammar Syed, Arul Malhotra, Ishaan Khemani, Sanil Baweja, Rodd Dastmalchi, Neeraj Sathe and Coach Rachna Mahajanl competed against 13 other regional winners from throughout California.

Odyssey of the Mind is considered the premier problem-solving competition in the world. The Gale Ranch team will now compete in May in the world finals at Michigan State University.

Alyssa Perry has been crowned this year's Miss Livermore Rodeo Queen. Alyssa will spend her yearlong reign traveling the state promoting the sport of rodeo and the Livermore Rodeo Stockmen's Association. She will visit schools and attend community service events.

Air Force Airman Cameron Townsend graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Diane Townsend, of San Ramon, and a 2012 graduate of California High School in San Ramon.
