PLEASANTON -- Drivers and pedestrians can prepare for months of major road construction at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Stoneridge Drive beginning in early May, according to a city press release.

Workers will be making a slew of improvements to the intersection, including constructing new turn lanes, converting existing lanes, installing traffic signals, building a bus stop, and various other projects. The work is being done comply with requirements for development of the Staples Ranch property.

Construction will occur weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is expected to last through November. During construction, two lanes of through traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. Pedestrians will be detoured around the area, but will be able to access a temporary bus stop, the city said.
