LIVERMORE -- The Granada and Livermore high school baseball teams will compete for a good cause on April 24 at the Livermore Veterans Appreciation Game.

Local military will be in attendance in addition to Livermore police and fire fighters.

Special guests Marine Staff Sgt. Jason Ross and Army Sgt. Christian Valle will throw out the first pitch at the game, to be held at Granada High, 400 Wall St.

The event begins at 3 p.m. with a time to meet and greet veterans, raising of the flag on the field's new flagpole, a military color guard and singing of "The National Anthem." The first pitch will be at 4 p.m.

There will be refreshments sold before and after the game, and raffle tickets will be sold.

All proceeds benefit the guests of honor.
