PLEASANTON -- Santa Rita Road will be closed at the railroad tracks south of Amador Valley High School on June 17 and 18 due to routine maintenance by Union Pacific.
All foot and vehicle traffic will be diverted away from the rail crossing from June 17 at 6 a.m. to June 18 at around 5 p.m. During the closure, the crossing will be removed and completely reconstructed, the city announced.
Traffic on Santa Rita Road will be detoured via Valley Avenue to Stanley Boulevard, and back to Santa Rita Road/Main Street. Access to Santa Rita past Valley Avenue will be allowed for southbound drivers who don't need to cross the tracks to reach their destinations. The ACE train schedule will not be affected.
