DANVILLE -- They took a dunking for a good cause.

When the Tri-Valley's veterans service organizations put out the call for help, volunteers lined up for a chance to have balls thrown at them and to take a chance at being dropped in the dunk tank to help out.

On Aug. 8, the tank was set up outside the Veterans Memorial Building during the Discover Danville Street Festival. Downtown visitors got a chance, for a price, to try to dump their favorite victim to the bottom of the water tank.

All money received at the event benefits the area's veterans service organizations that make use of the newly remodeled Veterans Memorial Building.
