LIVERMORE -- A Livermore man found dead Saturday morning in a creek near Granada High School was identified as 62-year-old Michael Phillips, the Alameda County Coroner's Office said Wednesday.
Coroner's officials said the man's cause of death remains unknown, and that an autopsy will be performed to determine his cause of death. Phillips' body was discovered Saturday morning by a passer-by walking in the 900 block of Murrieta Blvd., police said.
When officers arrived, they found the man in the creek in the vicinity of Granada High School, Officer Traci Rebiejo said.
Police would not say how long the man had been in the water nor would they comment on the condition of his body when it was discovered.
Phillips' death remains under investigation, police said Wednesday. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact investigators at 925-580-9665.
