DANVILLE -- Police arrested two men Friday on suspicion of robbing a man outside a McDonald's and then running away from officers after they were spotted eating at the same restaurant moments later.
Andrey Neshcheret, 23, and Jack Young, 19, both residents of Danville, were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility late Friday evening on suspicion of robbery and are both being held on $50,000 bail. Neshcheret was also arrested on suspicion of brandishing a deadly weapon, according to a police news release.
The theft occurred Thursday at around 9 p.m. when a 20-year-old Danville man went into the McDonald's parking lot on Camino Tassajara to sell his iPhone to someone he met over the Internet. But instead of a phone, the would-be buyer pulled out a knife and robbed the seller of his money before running away.
The victim later met with investigators in the parking lot and noticed his assailant eating inside the McDonald's. The suspect and another man ran from the restaurant where they eluded capture until Friday's arrest.
