CONCORD -- A late 31-yard touchdown run by Malik Blackburn secured a nonleague victory for the host Minutemen Friday.

The Minutemen and Patriots traded scores throughout the game, but Blackburn's fourth-quarter rush kept Heritage at bay for good. He finished with 98 yards on 15 carries, and also caught five passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Blackburn got Concord (3-1) on the board first with a 7-yard touchdown catch. Heritage (0-5) answered with a 5-yard scoring run by Jordan Ruelas in the second quarter. Ruelas also reached paydirt on a third-quarter touchdown pass from Nate Rollins and a fourth-quarter touchdown run.

Thanks to three successful two-point conversions, the Minutemen were able to keep a steady lead over the Patriots.

Concord quarterback Mitch Daniels finished with 20 completions in 40 passing attempts with 205 yards and three touchdowns. Heritage running back Leeandre White was a workhorse for the Patriots, carrying the ball 21 times for 91 yards.
