Knights keep rolling

  • The Las Lomas High girls volleyball team earned its seventh straight win by beating Miramonte 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 on Oct. 4 to remain in second place in the Diablo Foothill Athletic League standings. Rachel Linden had 35 assists while Maddie Borch provided 10 kills and 10 digs. Las Lomas has also beaten Alhambra, Acalanes and Dublin in league play.

    Cougars make a splash

  • The Campolindo High boys water polo team recorded an important Diablo Foothill Athletic League win on Oct. 3, beating Las Lomas 13-10. J.D. Ratchford, Grant Sivesind and Dylan Fara all contributed four goals in the victory. The win, Campolindo's first over the Knights since 2009, kept the Cougars unbeaten after two weeks of league play.

    Falcons top Minutemen

  • The College Park High girls volleyball team won a five-game thriller over Concord on Oct. 2 to improve to 5-0 in Diablo Valley Athletic League play. The Falcons won 14-25, 25-20, 12-25, 25-20, 16-14. Senior Annelise Tappe had a strong game, contributing 17 digs, 10 kills, three aces and two blocks. The Falcons were 15-4 overall this year as of Oct. 8.
