Want to weigh in on the next Mt. Diablo Unified School District superintendent? The board of education is conducting a search and wants to hear from the community about what characteristics they want to see in the next superintendent.
Michael Escalante and Sally Frazier of Leadership Associates were selected to advise the board, the district said. While the pair held open forums last week, there also is now a survey on the district website through which parents, employees and anyone else can talk about they want in the next Mt. Diablo superintendent. To fill out the survey go to www.mdusd.org.
John Bernard was chosen as the district's interim superintendent earlier this month after Superintendent Steve Lawrence was ousted by a majority of the board.
The Walnut Creek School District will offer a Transitional Kindergarten program for students during the 2013-2014 school year. Students who have their fifth birthday between Oct. 2 and Dec. 2 are eligible to enroll in this program.
Each family is required to complete a residency affidavit and to submit valid proof of residency. A birth certificate or other legal evidence of date of birth must be presented at the time of registration. Also required are records of immunizations issued by a physician or registered nurse, stating the month, day, and year of each required immunization.
For registration information for the transitional kindergarten program, please contact the district office at 925-944-6850.
