The Walnut Creek School District has set March 17-28 as the time for the district's annual kindergarten and transitional kindergarten preregistration. These early registrations help greatly in planning for class assignments. Parents of children born between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2, 2009 may register them for transitional kindergarten scheduled for the 2014-2015 school year. Registration will take place at the district office, located at 960 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA 94596. For more information contact the district office at 925-944-6850. Transitional kindergarten registration packets will be available for pickup at the district office on March 3.
Parents of children who were born on or before Sept. 1, 2009, may register them for kindergarten classes scheduled for the 2014-2015 school year. Registration will take place at each of the district's five elementary schools. Registration packets will be available at the school sites beginning on March 3. Please contact individual schools for additional information.
A health examination report is recommended before school starts for the 2014-2015 school year and is required within three months of entering first grade. This health exam can be scheduled as early as six months before starting kindergarten. A dental health pre-screening is required for kindergarten and may be scheduled as early as twelve months before the start of school. Each family is required to complete a residency affidavit and to submit valid proof of residency as well as proof of immunizations. For more information, go to www.walnutcreeksd.org
