Confidence abounds

Almost 300 girls ages 8-16, like 10-year-old Sofia Sosa of Walnut Creek, above, participated in Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla's fourth annual Taking the World by Storm soccer clinic, held Saturday at Arbolado Park in Walnut Creek. The event, in which girls learn skill-building drills and have scrimmages coached by members of the semiprofessional women's soccer team California Storm, also has a goal of empowering young women to become confident and successful adults.
