PICK SIX
The drama of the draft for Warriors fans has centered on figuring out the first six picks. Here is staff writer Marcus Thompson II's best guess at how it will play out:
1. Wizards PG John Wall Kentucky
A rare prospect. He's been a lock as top pick since at least December
2. 76ers SG/SF Evan Turner Ohio State
Philly flirted with taking a big but will settle for the college player of the year.
3. Nets SF Wesley Johnson Syracuse
Derrick Favors' poor workout this week helps the Nets make the right move. The Nets are much better off with a veteran big man like Carlos Boozer instead of Favors.
4. Timberwolves PF Derrick Favors Georgia Tech
They already have two good big men in Al Jefferson and Kevin Love. But they can't pass Favors and reach for a need. That's a fireable offense.
5. Kings PF/C DeMarcus Cousins Kentucky
Though they like Georgetown's Greg Monroe, just can't imagine them passing up a talent like Cousins. They have insurance in center Samuel Dalembert and power forward Jason Thompson.
6. WARRIORS PF Ekpe Udoh Baylor
Risky with a legit big man in Monroe here. But drafting Monroe all but forces a trade of Andris Biedrins or Ronny Turiaf. Is Monroe that good?
